Little People's Place Child Development Center
...because your kids are worth it!
OUR PHILOSOPHY...

When our children were young, we didn't think there was a real difference between
daycare and child development.  But over the years, our viewpoint has changed.  We
think being in the child development business instead of the daycare business is a
philosophy, a different mindset, a different attitude.  We don't want to just care for your
children, we want to be a part of their development process, to help them be as prepared
as possible for their next challenge in life, whether that is taking a step, learning their
alphabet, or learning to read.

So, what is different about us?  We've had a lot of people ask that, and you should.  Why
should you trust an 'unknown' versus something you already are familiar with?  Why are
our rates a little higher than other local centers, and why should you be willing to pay a
little more for the most important people in your life?  Here are a few reasons:

  • We are parents too, and we know how hard it is to find a good school for your
children.  We take caring for and educating your children very seriously (but
we try to have fun while we're at it!).
  • Our director, Mickie, has more than 30 years of experience, by now she's
seen it all.  She is loaded with ideas and brimming with excitement.
  • We are too busy every day learning and having fun that we don't even have
    TVs.
  • We have lower teacher to student ratios in most of our rooms than other
programs.  This means more one-on-one attention for your child.
  • Our curriculum is tops - your children will be prepared for kindergarten.
  • The infant room uses apnea monitors in the cribs on the younger babies.
These are electronic pads that go under the mattresses which can sense
when an infant's breathing pattern is disrupted.
  • The meals are nutritionally balanced and provide the children with a wide
    variety of food choices.
  • The classrooms are large and filled with fun activities.  Each classroom is
separate to avoid distractions from other classrooms.
  • The lunchroom doubles as a multipurpose room so kids have someplace to go
on rainy or snowy days when they can't go outside.
  • There is video monitoring of each classroom, as well as the playgrounds.
When you leave each day, you can watch the monitors to be comfortable that
your child is settled and happy and engaged.  And, you have the comfort of
knowing that there's an extra set of eyes keeping track of classroom
    activities during the day.
  • We want to hire the best possible people to teach your children.  Sometimes
that means paying them more and offering more benefits.  We hope that will
translate into lower teacher turnover which means more stability for the
    children.
  • The playgrounds are packed with activities for kids.  We use top of the line
rubber mulch under our play equipment.  This helps kids avoid splinters from
wood chips and has higher safety standards than other ground cover.  It is
also 100% recycled so it's better for the environment.
  • Transportation to and from the Gardner schools is provided.
  • Basic Spanish is taught starting in the preschool rooms.
